Coaching and Mentoring for Young People

"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

Our children and young people are going through very tough times at the moment.

Yes - children are (generally) adaptable and resilient. But what about those who need some extra support to get through their struggles at the moment? Those whose learning is affected by their lack of emotional wellbeing? Those who are spiralling downwards? No one wants this; coaching is one of the best ways to help young people find their ways forwards and start to thrive!

78% of teachers say that mental health issues among children and young people have increased in past year, with 34% of respondents saying they had “increased greatly”.

Most schools and colleges are brilliant at providing a range of support for their students.

Coaching is a highly effective intervention; more commonly used with adults, but also extremely successful in giving young people a high level of ownership and control over aspects of their lives they find challenging.

  • Worries, anxieties, over-thinking

  • Emotional regulation - esp anger

  • Lack of confidence and self-esteem

  • Peer pressure and degrees of bullying

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Poor communication skills

  • Lack of focus, motivation, goals

For many young people, finding effective strategies and empowerment through coaching has reversed the downward spiral into poor mental health and placed them back on track for learning and loving life!

Sue is an expert at working with children to help them feel more in control of their emotions

and to work towards stronger self-regulation and self-leadership.

She helps them find individual and effective strategies to increase their feelings of confidence and wellbeing - and decrease their anxieties, worries, lack of confidence, sometimes anger. She shows them how to build better relationships and friendships with other children. She helps them to be happier!

Sue is passionate about working with schools to identify pupils on the brink of a crisis -

and helping to prevent the damage which would otherwise cause hurt to children and their families.
